Summary of Chinese articles that support softfork scaling

Ma Long, or better known as Maya/Cndx in Chinese Bitcoin community, is a Segwit enthusiast and Core-supporter, summarize a series of Chinese posts on softfork scaling to better educate the Chinese community on 8btc.

ma-long
Ma Long quit his fulltime job and dig into Bitcoin and blockchain development in 2013. Now he focus on Shibe, a dogecoin-friendly community, and idgui, a bitcoin navigation site. You may find more about him here. As one of the active supporters of Bitcoin Core, Ma Long has been frequently engaged in the softfork and hardfork discussion.
He told 8btc that his stand for scaling was a bit complicated, but he set two bottom lines:

1. The community must be united.
2. No more centralization.
I don’t support any proposals that are not in line with the two principles.

He also pointed out that:

The 75% activation threshold of Bitcoin XT and Classic poses a great threat to the unity of bitcoin community. Bitcoin Unlimited has no definite number for activation and unlimited blocksize. That means super large block is a likelihood, which will result in further node centralization. In other words, BU crossed both lines and I am against it.

The Segwit softfork scaling was favored by Ma Long for two reasons:

1. The proposal is a compatible softfork and the 95% consensus means low risk of blockchain split.
2. With the support of Segwit, Lightning Network and Side Chain, blockchain requires no ultra-large mainnet blocks, which will facilitate decentralization of full nodes.

Ma is open to discussion and he compiled a post: Summary of Chinese articles that support softfork scaling. The thread will be updated from time to time.

Please note that the following links are all in Chinese.

1. Technology

It is suggested that all discussions should be free and civilized from a true technical perspective.

I don’t support any proposals that are not in line with the two principles.

Contradictory set of premises from the start. Yep, must be a Core supporter.

Something lost in translation, or Ma does not know Bitcoin very well. There is no risk of chain split in softfork, and there is no functional LN, or Side Chain. Implementing LN does not even need SegWit, all required scripts are already in Bitcoin.
