Bitmain To Release Antminer X3 CryptoNight ASIC miner with 220 KH/s Hashrate

The Chinese cryptocurrency mining hardware manufacturer Bitmain has just launched the all-new Antminer X3 CryptoNight ASIC miner which is much more powerful than what Baikal miner is offering.

The Bitmain Antminer X3 promises 220 KH/s hashrate for Cryptonight at 550 Watts of power usage. The new X3 miner can be used to mine Monero (XMR) and other cryptocurrencies based on the CryptoNight hashing algorithm. An Antminer X3 miner is 11 times more powerful than the Baikal Giant-N Cryptonight ASIC miner at roughly 2 times higher price.

The official Twitter account of Bitmain dropped a tweet yesterday, announced that there are two batches of the Antminer X3 shipping in June and May. The shipping for the first batch will start on a first-order-first-ship basis on 15 May 2018 for fully payed orders Bitmain has received. In order to prevent hoarding and to enable more users in different time zone to order Antminer X3, Bitmain has set a limit of one miner per user and will release both these batches with an equal stock thrice at 3 PM, 6PM and 9PM since 15 March (GMT+8).

By the time these devices start shipping, miners may choose Antminer X3 CryptoNight ASIC miner to mine Monero (XMR) along with some other coins as the the it is much more powerful than other mining machine. If we use a miner with 8 Rx 470x chips to mine Monero, it can only provide 5.52 KH/s hashrate while Antminer X3 is 40 times more powerful with a 3.2 times higher price.

The price of the first batch of Antminer X3 shipping in May is $11,999 USD, the second batch is planned to start shipping 1 month later with a significantly lower price of $7,599 USD. It was also reported that, an Antminer X3 CryptoNight ASIC miner may earn 0.8 XMR per day. At time of writing, Monero’s price is about $206.45 USD.
